Course Information

Classroom Policies:

• Please be respectful of others in class: no chewing gum, no eating or drinking besides water, no texting or passing notes.
• Bring all assignments, quizzes, and text books to class.
• Students are required to come to class and stay for the entire period.
• Plagiarism will not be tolerated.

Materials:

• Flash Drive (1-2 GB)
• 3-ring Binder
• Pens/pencils/highlighters
• Public Library Card
• Spiral-bound notebook or notebook paper

Grading Guidelines:

• Students will earn a letter grade for each assignment.
• Each letter grade will be converted to a percentage that will be averaged to arrive at the final grade for the course.
• Some assignments will be weighted more heavily than others.
• All students will build a grade through the following assignments. 

Assignments:

• 1 Short Essay (2-3 pages) – 15%
• 1 Long Essay (4-5 pages) – 30%
• Quizzes and In-Class Assignments – 15%
• Attendance and Participation – 10%
• Midterm and Final Exam – 30%
